A Finance Manager role has been newly created at this private equity backed Castleford based group for a fully qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA Accountant, a role which represents a great all rounder that builds into management of the junior finance team within the Wakefield office and presents the opportunity to take a key position in the finance team of a growing business that still maintains a family feel culture.
The business has seen some change at the executive level and now has the desire to up-skill the team. They have created two new roles in the finance team to help support the FC, this position acting as the central point for management accounts and group reporting within the business. With the business having acquired 4 other companies in the past few years, the landscape is changing in the team and opportunities will present themselves for the top performers within the unit.
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the role engages with a well rounded set of responsibilities:
-Overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts and production of consolidated group accounts and reports.
-Key report generation for senior management.
-Improvement and automation of reports in order to produce more meaningful KPIs.
-Budgeting and forecasting.
-Provision of financial analysis to assist commercial decision making.
-Lead role in statutory reporting and managing annual external audit.
-Supervision of payroll, HMRC, VAT, statistical returns etc.
The business is ideally looking for a qualified accountant, with a slight leaning towards those from and ACA/ACCA background for their grounding in financial accounts, but this is not absolute as long as the applicant has the right experience. Standout elements they will be out on the lookout for will be experience in statutory accounts, group consolidation and cash flow with excellent Excel skills a must. Management responsibility is projected in the role, so the character and desire to take on some lead responsibilities in the team needs to be present.
