The Finance Director will be joining at an important time for the continued development and success of the business. The opportunity to work as part of a diverse but high performing team is exciting and the successful applicant will play a key part in the company’s evolution as they take advantage of developments and opportunities in their sector.
Home Décor is underpinned by traditional values but is also highly innovative, commercial and customer focussed. The Finance Director role is a critical member of the Executive management team, leading business planning, strategy development and commercial decision making. The successful candidate must be able to bring additional commercial and strategic bandwidth to the senior management team whilst also maintaining a hands-on familiarity with the financial detail of the company
The FD’s primary focus will be the planning, implementation and running of group finance activities in addition to Information Technology, business systems development and management of all investor, banking and insurance relationships and compliance.
Key responsibilities will include; leadership, direction and management of the Finance and IT teams; provide strategic and operational recommendations to other members of the Executive team based on sound financial principles; lead the process for financial forecasting and budgeting; group wide cash flow management, treasury, forex and funding to meet business requirements; production of performance management information to ensure correct metrics are reviewed and management action is taken; all company legal, tax and insurance matters.
Knowledge & Experience: The successful candidate will have previous experience of operating at CFO or Finance Director level, ideally in a multi -site manufacturing business.
They will have a demonstrable track record of driving improvements company wide and managing working capital and cash. They should be able to evidence strong cost control and efficiency improvements in previous roles.
Experience in the reporting of commercial, financial and cash related information to stakeholders, employees, suppliers and other interested parties. Experience of leading IT systems implementations. Previous role in a private equity backed business. Business acquisition and integration experience.
Skills & Competencies:
An ability to interface and lead projects with colleagues from all departments of the business; excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written; an ability to engage with staff at all levels within the organisation. The role requires drive, initiative and analytical skills and a willingness to have a hands-on approach to driving change and improvement.
