Branch Accountant

A local car dealership, part of a wider group is looking for an experienced Branch Accountant specifically with dealership experience.

Supervision / mentoring of 1 member of staff, as a team you will be responsible for:
• Cash and banking
• Forecast meetings
• Vehicle & General Debtor reviews
• Raising transport sales invoices
• Posting purchase ledger invoices
• Payment runs
• Late Cost Report
• General debtor chasing
• Transport driver expenses
• Sales report v DOC reconciliation, adjustments, journals & reconcile against TB
• Bank reconciliation
• Accruals, Prepayments and journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll authority, checking & loading onto the bank
• Month end payroll summary
• Producing a full set of monthly Management Accounts
• Fixed Asset Register (manual file of copy invoices kept)
• Payroll exceptions (bonus/overtime accruals)
• Funding, manufacturing and purchase ledger reconciliations
• Default suspense account clearing
• Sending out sales ledger statements
• Warranty / WIP review
• Closing month end ledgers
• Setting up PAYE /VAT payments
• Preparation of schedules and reconciliations for statutory accounts and audit

Person Specification:
• Must have worked in a similar, hands-on role within a car dealership
• Will ideally be studying towards a professional qualification such as CIMA/ACCA
• Flexible approach to the role from transactional processing to final management accounts production and review
• Strong communication skills
• Able to travel occasionally to other branches in the North West
