Avid Insurance is a niche multi-disciplined Insurance Intermediary and Managing General Agent, operating out of offices in London and Leeds. They act as both wholesale and retail brokers and work closely with their partners to build bespoke insurance schemes thereby providing unique insurance solutions with ongoing management support.

In August 2019, Beech Tree Private Equity took a majority stake in Avid and this now gives the business the “firepower” to accelerate their growth and build on the investments they’ve already made in people and systems in the preceding years.

As part of this evolution, Avid are recruiting an experienced FD who can further develop scalable controls and systems whilst also helping drive the strategic agenda. This will involve significant M&A activity as well as identifying a pathway towards secondary investment.

The Finance Director will be a strong business partner to the CEO with extensive commercial and operational experience and a high level of commercial nous.

You will work closely with the Board and instinctively provide constructive challenge and support to existing and evolving commercial decision making as the business continues to develop, whilst maintaining strict adherence to FCA Regulations.

This role will have overall leadership of the Group’s finance function and take responsibility for the full cycle of reporting. Although Avid has a strong team and the financial controls environment is robust, candidates will need to be hands on and willing to get close to the detail where necessary and appropriate.

In addition to substantial organic growth, Avid is already looking at other opportunities to diversify and expand its current business. . Identifying, assessing, completing and integrating acquisitions will form a key part of your responsibilities and will underpin your strategic recommendations for future growth.

The successful candidate will be attracted by the opportunity of growing a vibrant, fast moving, PE backed business into and through its next round of investment.

You will be a qualified accountant with FD experience in an entrepreneurial, high growth environment. You will certainly be familiar with the PE environment and your engaging personality will allow you to present confidently to external advisors / investors.

Your natural style will be collaborative, but you will also possess the character and confidence to work remotely and in isolation if needed.

The first stage of this process will be conducted online. Subsequent stages will be carried out in Covid-19 Secure environments and will adhere to any current social distancing legislation.
