Axon Moore Donate Laptops to Charity

Back to Blogs

We are pleased to have been able to donate ten of our used laptops to national award-winning charity, The Message, and their Community Grocery store. Partnering with FareShare, THG and a range of supermarket chains, The Message Community Grocery store provide thousands of underprivileged families in South Manchester with a range of fresh food at heavily discounted rates, whilst saving hundreds of tonnes of supermarket food from being wasted each year. Families are able to fill a shopping basket with a week’s worth of food for as little as £3 a visit, giving them the dignity and respect of a physical transaction of purchasing essential goods rather than receiving handouts.

The Community Grocery stores also do other fantastic work to support and educate families by operating job clubs, money management support schemes and healthy cooking classes. They also operate a Christmas Toy Store to help support families in the build-up to the festive period, when money typically becomes tight. Our used laptops will now be gifted to families who visit The Message’s Christmas Toy Store in the run-up to Christmas 2021.

A recent BBC report showed that an unbelievable 1.8 million people in the UK are still without access to a computer, so we’re delighted that our ten used laptops will now be available at the store. The laptops will help to improve the lives of families by unlocking access to the internet, online education tools and enabling them to carry out many of life’s essential needs. We are in full support of The Message and their efforts to help underprivileged people across the UK and we regularly do fundraising charity days to raise money to support their great work.
