Accounts Assistant | Manchester City Centre | Property Sector | Hybrid working  

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are partnering with a leading property management business. This business prides themselves on transforming unloved buildings in central locations into modern, efficiently designed apartments. An exciting opportunity to join their growing finance team. The correct candidate will be familiar with balance sheet ledger reconciliations and month end closure. Finally, purchase ledger and sales ledger experience is essential, property experience is desirable yet not essential.

Salary: £25,000-£35,000

Main Duties:


  • Work with the team on validating payment runs and updating the purchase ledger.
  • Manage credit control and collections for sales invoices and investors relations team.
  • Post daily cash books, reconcile banks, and maintain appropriate records.
  • Work with operations as a business partner to support cash flow forecasting, budget creation and spending tracking, address questions about purchase invoices and make sure customers are charged accurately.
  • Produce accruals and prepayment schedules and other month end journals.
  • Assistance with payroll journal posts and inter-company reconciliations.
  • Create a trial balance to aid in the creation of monthly management accounts.
  • Provide any additional analysis needed to aid with month-end reporting.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other tax returns when required.
  • Assist with ONS returns and other external body reporting as and when required.
  • Deal with wider team tasks and continuous improvement initiatives, including year-end accounts preparation, system upgrades and functionality leveraging.
 


Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Experience in a Finance department, with  emphasis on balance sheet ledger reconciliations and month end closure.
  • AAT qualified or looking to take a financial qualification.
  • Accounts payable and sales ledger maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrable finance accounting system querying and transaction inputting experience.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets in MS Excel to manipulate and re-format data.
  • Property sector experience desirable but not essential.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to interrogate, problem solve and identify trends.
  • A flexible and practical approach to work, with ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and cross functionally.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and to drive continuous improvement
