Assistant Accountant | Preston | £25,000 - £30,000 + Study Support | Broad exposure | Great mentorship and progression

Axon Moore are pleased to be working alongside an exciting business in Preston as they recruit for an ambitious part-qualified accountant wanting to come in and take ownership of the month-end processes and add value to the business

This role will work closely with the Finance Manager who has a keen interest in developing and progressing junior candidates into more senior positions. As such, this role is well suited to self-determined individuals looking to get involved within projects and take on more responsibilities over time whilst, ultimately, working to become chartered.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets
  • Month-end duties
  • Posting journals
  • Reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Plenty of project work
  • Maintenance of the fixed assets register and reconciling data
  • Analysing gross margins
  • Reporting on leads for the business
  • Analysing individual performance and margin growth
  • Profitability reviews
  • Other ad-hoc duties
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Actively studying towards completion of ACCA/CIMA
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Prior experience working within a finance team
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and keen to progress
  • Ability to work successfully against tight deadlines
  • Great attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Able to prioritise and organise efficiently
