Job description

Axon Moore are working with a large, PE backed business operating across the UK to appoint an AAT level Assistant Accountant. 

This is a fast paced and varied role which offers scope to progress and develop. Reporting into the Finance Manager you wll be responsible for:


• End to end ownership of Purchase Ledger for one of 3 entities. This includes receiving and processing invoices, allocating, supplier statement reconciliation, sending remittances and making supplier payments
• Updating daily cash books and sending weekly cash reports for all 3 entities
• Paying weekly/monthly subcontractors for 2 entities.
• Raising credit notes for the CIS withheld.
• Weekly expenses for 3 entities – small number of employees who are eligible to use expenses
• Bank reconciliations for the 3 entities – carried out daily, in the morning and kept on top of
• Processing daily POs for the 3 entities
• Month end support with posting of prepayments. Accruals, fixed asset depreciations
• Reconciling revenue in sage to operational KPI reports.
• Other ad-hoc tasks and holiday cover as required, with scope to gain more exposure

Experience & Skill Requirements:

• Part or Fully Qualified AAT and with ambitions to study CIMA/ACCA
• Good knowledge of excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc)
• Preferable to have experience of using Sage 200
• Experience covering multiple entities is beneficial
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills

Salary and benefits:
