Job description

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a Charity based in Salford. This role will support the Director of Finance on a range of day-to-day and month-end finance duties. You will be an integral point of contact to the finance teams and internal stakeholders and will assist with the production of meaningful information and accounts to ensure the business is managed efficiently.

We are seeking a CIMA/ACCA part-qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This would be the ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven individual looking for a busy, developmental role.

Salary and benefits:

Salary – up to £33,000 DOE plus, up to 30 days holiday plus bank holidays, medical cover. 35 hour week with flexible working hours.

Responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with the Director of Finance and Senior Finance Team to ensure that management and financial accounts are produced within the agreed timetable for the main charity and all subsidiary companies.
  • Working toward supporting commentary and reports showing the aged debtors and creditors for each subsidiary, with an update of actions taken in the month.
  • Work with the Senior Finance Team to ensure all accruals and prepayments and other month end journals are generated and posted for all subsidiary companies to allow the production of the accounts as highlighted above.
  • Support and assist in the preparation of meaningful cash flow forecasts and statements for all subsidiary companies
  • Support and assist in the preparation of monthly reports on the cash position of the business, including a commentary to be included in the management accounts.
  • Support and contribute with the improvement of the financial systems and procedures to maximise efficiency.
  • Generate working files to ensure that budgets and forecasts including supporting commentary are produced for all areas of the diocese.
  • Support the Senior Finance Team in generating and providing reports to committees and Audit requests as required.
  • Act as secretary to the Finance Committee
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • AAT studier or Graduate with experience, ideally a part-qualified ACCA/CIMA Accountant
  • Experience in an accounts position, looking for more exposure and development
  • Good IT skills and a competent user of Excel – VLOOKUP and pivot tables as standard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
  • Highly enthusiastic and looking to develop and progress in the role
  • Good time planning skills and attention to detail
  • Adaptable to change with good problem solving skills
  • A self-starter with excellent team work abilities, who works hard under pressure
  • DBS checks will be carried out for this role
