Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Oldham. The business is well established in the market and has a turnover of over £100m. My client is seeking a part-qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This would be the ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven individual looking for a busy, developmental role in a growing business. This is a new role which will cover a range of month end accounting duties, with scope to develop and progress in the role. Study support is included for CIMA/ACCA as they are looking for someone quite ambitious.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £28-32k DOE plus study support, 25 days holiday, employee discount, pension, parking, 9-5 core hours with flexibility and hybrid working (2 set days in the office).

Responsibilities include:
  • Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, who leads the Financial Accounting team
  • VAT – for both the UK & Irish Companies
  • Weekly and monthly stock and sales reporting
  • Sales forecasting and analysis
  • Management Accounts: Accruals/prepayments, posting journal entries, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Quarterly Royalty reporting
  • Completion of ONS (Office of National Statistics) surveys
  • Assisting Management Accountant with management reporting (various)
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process
  • Resolving audit queries and providing supporting documentation
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Part-qualified accountant – ACCA/CIMA
  • Management Accounts experience desirable
  • Sales reporting experience essential
  • Strong IT skills, notably Excel
  • Ability to communicate to different levels in the organisation
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Work under own initiative
  • Experience in ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards, but not essential)
