Assistant Management Accountant l Trafford l Up to £32k l Study Support

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are delighted to be exclusively working with an incredibly fast growing business and ambitious business with a specialised portfolio of brands and products spanning across multiple sectors. Their mission is to disrupt markets via a competitively positioned range of brands and products, supported by cutting-edge technology, marketed to both B2B customers and B2C. The business is a UK based supplier of domestic appliances for household brands, which is a group of companies with an annual turnover of circa £40 million. The individual within this role will work alongside the Group Management Accountant and report directly into the Group Finance Director being responsible for the accounts assistant functions across the group of companies.

Salary: Up to £32k

Location: Manchester

Main Duties:

  • Support to both the Group Management Accountant and Management Accountant

  • Involvement in processing with the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Treasury functions as may be required

  • Daily posting of invoices and transactions to Sage systems

  • Daily bank reconciliations, allocating customer receipts to remittances

  • Regularly reconciliation of ledgers to supplier statements

  • Accurate allocation of a large volume of receipts from various payment platforms

  • Communications with customers, including issuing of invoices and statements

  • Responsible for the sales ledgers and purchase ledger of an expanding group of companies

  • Credit control duties, ensuring timely collection of cash owed

  • Weekly aged reporting into Management Accountants for cashflow purposes

  • Prepare weekly payment run, and liaising with external parties on any payments due

  • Resolution of various daily queries i.e. confirming payment receipts, sending copy invoices etc. plus adhoc queries, with relevant issues escalated

Person Specification:

  • Experience of a similar varied finance role covering multiple aspects

  • Knowledge of Sage 50 an advantage, but not essential

  • Knowledge of Excel, advanced knowledge an advantage eg VBA, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs, VLOOKUP

  • Diligence to ensure work is completed to the highest standard; accurately and efficiently

  • Resourceful in problem solving and seeking guidance to resolve such problems

  • Ability to prioritise workload based on deadlines and importance
