Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Oldham. The business is well established in the market and has a turnover of over £100m. My client is seeking a part-qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This would be the ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven individual looking for a busy, developmental role in a growing business. This is a new role which will cover a range of month end accounting duties, with scope to develop and progress in the role. Study support is included for CIMA/ACCA as they are looking for someone quite ambitious.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £27-32k DOE plus study support, 25 days holiday, employee discount, pension, parking, 9-5 core hours with flexibility and hybrid working (2 set days in the office).

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide support to the Management Accountant and Finance Director
  • Month end support to the Management Accountant
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Journal posting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • VAT returns for UK and Irish companies
  • Royalty reporting
  • Responsibility for the fixed asset register
  • Assisting with management reporting
  • Year-end audit support
  • Other ad-hoc duties within finance
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant
  • Some retail experience would be beneficial
  • Strong IT skills and a competent user of Excel. Experience using an ERP system is beneficial
  • Highly enthusiastic and looking to develop and progress in the role
  • Good time planning skills and attention to detail
  • A self-starter with excellent team work abilities, who works hard under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
