Job description

Axon Moore are recruiting a Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established fashion business based in Manchester. This role can completed on a part or full time basis.

We are ideally seeking a Bookkeeper with all round accounts experience to look after the finance within the business. The role will cover sales and purchase ledger, stock, banking, month end procedures as well as VAT returns for UK and Ireland.

Salary and benefits:

Salary – up to £35k per annum, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension.

Responsibilities include:
  • Working with GBP, Euro and USD currencies
  • Checking and processing purchase invoices and credits
  • Monthly payment run
  • Credit checks on customers
  • Processing sales orders and checking and processing invoices and credits
  • Debt chasing via phone, email and forwarded for legal action for none paying customers
  • Update bond book (training will be given)
  • Enter stock on systems when stock arrive (training will be given)
  • Dispatch stock from Genesis (training will be given)
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Daily cash flow production and updates
  • Payments of P11D, PAYE/NIC and Corporation Tax
  • Reconcile bank accounts, VAT accounts and the sales and purchase ledger
  • Produce P & L and balance sheet for the Director
  • Analysis and reporting for sales and payroll analysis and input on to sage
  • Vat returns quarterly for two companies GBP, Irish vat return and postponed VAT
  • Other ad-hoc duties, such as answering the telephone, fire alarm testing and first aid with course to be provided.
  • Ensuring all health and safety files certificates and risk assessments are up to date
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-2 years previous experience in a bookkeeper or all round accounts role
  • Use of Sage Line 50 would be  and intermediate Excel skills would be beneficial. Basic Excel would be essential
  • Good time planning skills and attention to detail
  • A self-starter with excellent team work abilities, who works autonomously and hard under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
