Job description

An outstanding opportunity for a driven and ambitious qualified accountant to join as Commercial Finance Manager in a high-growth, International private equity backed business based in Chester. The role offers hybrid working with x2 days a week in the office and would suit an individual who is career driven and seeking a fast-paced, high-growth environment where you’ll be surrounded by great mentors and high-calibre colleagues.

Your role will cover the following;
  • Business partner with the multi-brand Operational function to provide commercial challenge, insight and support
  • Support delivery of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts
  • Challenge budget holders to deliver against annual plans and forecasts
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities to plan
  • Influence the business to drive a culture of innovation and change, in a commercial and risk-balanced way
  • Ad hoc support and finance leadership on cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives as required.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to aid decision making, presenting in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
  • Support delivery of the annual budget and reforecasts, including analysis to ensure assumptions are credible and proactive evaluation of risks and opportunities.
  • Understand and develop operational KPIs; use this information to challenge the business to continuously improve
  • Undertake commercial analysis for Commercial Finance and the wider business to aid decision making
  • Ad hoc support and finance leadership on cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives as required.
  • Proactively improve processes and finance functionality
  • Support and develop both the finance team through demonstration of the Company values
Person Specification:
  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience of working with cross functional / non-finance teams; advantageous but not essential experience with operational (sales and service) teams.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with an ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent influencing skills and high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Hands on approach and high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills
