Job description

The Role: Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Rochdale. My client is seeking a Credit Controller to join the Credit team on a permanent basis.

The business is growing both organically and through acquisition and it’s a really exciting time to join the new Credit team. The post holder will be an integral part of a team of 8, covering the end to end credit control process. The function is being centralised to head office, changing from the current set up of having people based out at depots across the UK. This will standardise and improve processes as much as possible and will create more of a team environment in the role.

Salary & Benefits: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 25 after service), pension, parking, onsite gym, hybrid working is a benefit offered in the business of up to 2 days a week once settled in the role.

Responsibilities include:
  • End to end credit control, with responsibility for your own ledgers and collecting any outstanding debt with a target of 0% 90 day debt.
  • Using excellent customer service skills to build relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment of invoices and timely resolution of queries and aged debt, escalating any issues to the Credit Manager.
  • Responsible for the daily allocation of any payments received
  • Completion of monthly reports
  • Chasing all due retention and escalating where appropriate
  • Checking for accuracy on invoices to ensure no underpayments
  • Having reviews with the Credit Control Manager to discuss the ledgers and agreeing actions
  • Support the Credit Control Manager where necessary
  • Support audit activities
  • Any other ad-hoc duties
 
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Over 2 years’ experience in a Credit Control role
  • Experience of Sage Line 200 or NetSuite preferred
  • Proficient in excel spreadsheets with intermediate skills such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
  • Excellent communication skills
