Job description

Role: Credit Controller – 6 months FTC

Location: Chadderton, Oldham

Pay: £25,000-£30,000k, pension, on-site parking, flexible working hours (37.5 hours p/w)

This is a 6m FTC opportunity to assist the Credit Control team with the day to day debt chasing, but also assist with a project to tidy the ledger and ensure the CRM and Sage accounting system match each other. There is scope for this role to turn permanent.

The role reports to the Finance Manager and will collaborate with the team of 2 others to work through the ledger and this project. Sage experience is essential in order to hit the ground running and basic Excel/Outlook/Word is required. The company operates in the commercial market, so debt with fall with businesses and their overdue invoices.

Responsibilities include:
  • Daily banking including analysing and posting sales, bank and credit card receipts
  • Updating cashflow
  • Processing proforma telephone payments and pay by links
  • Setting up new customer accounts, including the checking of credit limits
  • Checking existing customer credit prior to expiration and renew
  • Answer day to day sales ledger customer queries i.e. confirming payment receipts, sending copy invoices etc.
  • Oversee all electronic filing within the accounts department
  • Other ad hoc duties to assist both credit control and sales ledger
  • Ad hoc – assist the Acting CFO with updating aged debtors via Sage and CRM - training will be provided
Experience/skills required:
  • A get up and go attitude with the ability to work to a good pace
  • Experience in credit control, using Sage is essential
  • Keen eye for detail and good organisation skills
  • Good telephone manner and communication skills via email
The successful candidate will be open to joining a successful accounting team at the heart of a well-established and successful business for a 6 month period.
