Credit Controller / Accounts Assistant | £24,000 - £28,000 | Preston | 3 month FTC | Fantastic team and working environment
I’m proud to be partnering a highly-valued client in their urgent search for a Credit Controller / Accounts Assistant to join the team and support the business whilst they undergo a period of sustained growth.
This temporary role will consist of approximately 50% Credit Control duties and the remaining 50% supporting the wider transactional finance team, processing invoices, etc. Given the requirement to hit the ground running in this role, the ideal candidate will boast good transactional experience and be a confident and chatty character. Additionally, candidates seeking part-time and full-time employment will all be considered.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Chasing overdue invoices and payments in a timely manner
- Building positive working relations with key accounts
- Dispute any deductions/credit requests that are invalid
- Manage internal and external queries relating to customer accounts
- Monitoring any orders placed on hold due to customer account queries
- Process incoming bank receipts onto the system and allocating to customer accounts
- Process cheques onto the system, allocating to customer accounts and banking cheques
- Updating the Credit Note Analysis report on a daily basis
- Processing and coding invoices
- Opening new accounts for customers, performing credit checks and terms reviews
- Using initiative to suggest and develop any improvements to current ways of working
- Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required
- Previous experience of working as a Credit Controller
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and time-keeping skills
- High attention to detail and able to take ownership of their role
- Good IT and MS Excel skills
- Able to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations
