Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of an exciting and growing business based in Spinningfields. The company has grown organically and are now seeking a Finance Analyst. This role would be a perfect step into a finance role for someone with a numerically based degree and a couple years’ post-grad experience. This role will evolve and allow for development and progression.

The main focus would be on ensuring the smooth running of the management of our staff compensation and benefits by out external payroll service providers. You will monitor and oversee payroll providers, building relationships with our points of contact, and working with our HR team to improve the benefits and services we can offer staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent communication skills as the successful candidate will need to liaise both with external and internal stakeholders daily.

This is a new role working closely with both Finance and HR. The post holder will identify and develop processes that will ensure the continuous improvement of payroll accuracy and customer satisfaction, as well as supporting the Finance and People Teams in payroll and benefits related queries and reporting. We are seeking a driven, pro-active problem solver with vendor management experience to play a pivotal role in enabling and supporting the firm in its 2030 growth plan.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £30-33k DOE plus study support, central offices in Manchester city centre, 37.5 hour week, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 5 % pension, private health care. Hybrid working is available 2-3 days working from home after a short period in the office for training.

Responsibilities include:
  • Core member of a small and dynamic finance team which covers the breadth of financial and management reporting for the team. The responsibilities will vary with business needs but will  have a primary focus on HR and compensation function. 
  • Take the lead on compensation and benefits related projects, to drive efficiency and growth, and enhance staff offerings – in line with the firm’s 10 year growth plans;
  • Maintain day to day relationship and communications with outsourced payroll providers, to ensure compliance and action from all parties;
  • Act as ‘Payroll Gatekeeper’ and first point of contact for all pay queries from employees and outsourced payroll providers; i.e. autonomously deal with any queries that arise on the whole range of payroll-related issues or escalation
  • Collaborating with People team to maintain payroll related employee data;
  • Review, process and maintain new joiner documentation to ensure all relevant information is received and filed as necessary;
  • Maintain Global payroll file; including salary and benefits paid to employees;
  • Collate, calculate and review payroll updates each month to send on to outsourced payroll providers; including calculations for joiners, leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP and other salary deductions
  • Collate data for annual benefits summary – to be presented to CFO and Managing Partners for consideration at our Remuneration Committee; and to be included in P11D and local equivalent reports;
  • Generate expense reports of monthly benefits to be included in payroll;
  • Carry out all benefits administration for eligible employees, including access to various platforms used throughout the company – including health insurance, dental insurance and pensions;
  • Providing administrative and processing assistance to the Finance Team.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Degree or similar with experience of 2 years in a finance/payroll setting
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment in a growing business
  • Trustworthy, reliable and discreet when handling sensitive information
  • Excel proficiency
