Job description
We are recruiting for a qualified Accountant to join our clients already first in class Finance team as a Finance Business Partner; work closely with and providing critical support to their Commercial and Operational teams across the business.
This is a true business partner role working with the business' full range of commercial and operational teams, undertaking analysis, and providing commercial advice to non-fiance, senior decision makers.
The role is incredibly diverse in nature and involves working with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver accurate performance reporting and insights, analysis of trading performance trends, costs and supplier income recognition, annual and quarterly budgeting and cash collection.
Key Deliverables:
● Updating the business units' P&L’s and providing variance analysis to measure and understand periodic and YTD performance against Budget
● Ownership, maintenance and communication of weekly reporting on sales and margin
● Stakeholder management, working closely with the business units leadership teams on budgeting, forecasting and reviewing of actuals
● Management of the out-turn process with stakeholders, to identify and highlight any risks and opportunities, allowing the business to respond on a timely basis
● Developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, to understand and meet their needs.
● Period End Procedures, including P&L reviews with the commercial team, preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments, and completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
● Supporting with the annual and quarterly budget process
● Provision of ad hoc analysis and insight to aid decision making on potential promotional plans, new products performance and pricing decisions
● Management and review of operational costs performance against budget
● Management and review of capital expenditure budgets and requests, and measurement of projects performance against business cases
About You
● Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
● Strong Commercial approach / knowledge
● Attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines
● Excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to influence at all levels
● An ability to deliver in a complex, fast paced environment
● Excellent analytical thinking and numerical skills
● Excellent Microsoft Excel or Google sheets skills
● Excellent communication skills, with ability to articulate financial data in a clear and transparent way
● Previous experience of supporting the delivery of finance plans and budgets
