Axon Moore are recruiting a Finance Director for a fast growing, highly acquisitive Manchester-based SME in the property sector. Following recent private equity investment, the company has a significant war chest and is set to embark on a buy and build strategy, acquiring and consolidating businesses within its highly fragment niche market.
Currently at c.£5m turnover and growing rapidly, the business is now looking to appoint a strong financial leader who will professionalise and drive improvements throughout the finance function, determine financial operations and performance, and drive growth through the delivery of an M&A roll up strategy.
The Finance Director will be very much involved in driving strategic direction and decision making, working closely with an experienced, sector-expert CEO and the company’s investors. The incoming FD must be able to add real value to the strategy and growth of the business whilst also adopting a hands-on approach with regard to the financial detail of the company and development of the finance function, ensuring the right foundations and infrastructure are in place to facilitate explosive growth and the integration of multiple acquisitions.
This role could be particularly well-suited to an ambitious, first-time Finance Director or could be a significant second-time FD position with the chance to break into the private equity space. The right individual will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude, a willingness to roll their sleeves up and undertake day-to-day finance activities, and a demonstrable track record of driving growth and performance. You must be someone who will thrive in a fast-paced, demanding private equity environment. Experience in real estate or working with rents and leases in some manner is desirable but not essential. This person will be a natural leader with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and work with senior stakeholders.
