Job description

Axon Moore are partnering with a high growth services business in Harrogate to appoint a talented Finance Director who will lead one their key business units – a growing, highly profitable and highly visible function within a much larger organisation.

The business unit has a turnover of +£60m and sits within a much larger group which is evolving and expanding at rapid pace.

This is a unique role and is ideally suited to someone who is looking for a highly visible role with high levels of interaction with other departments that is both internally and externally focused.

This person will work alongside a number of other key finance and non-finance stakeholders and report into the Group CFO.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Leading a large, multi-tiered finance function and tasked with developing and growing the team
  • Reporting on all aspects of financial performance of the division providing necessary support and guidance on financial strategies and plans
  • Manage a number of key external stakeholders, ensuring that business objectives are met and finance is represented in the best possible way
  • Implement and evolve robust financial systems and reporting
  • Leading a number of initiatives to ensure appropriate service levels are met and adhered to
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory reporting, tax and regulatory requirements
  • Take a lead role in all operational issues relating to Finance and work on key projects for continuous improvement
Candidates should have the following background and experience to be considered for this role:
  • Qualified Finance Leader with a proven track record of creating and leading high performing teams
  • Very strong business partnering skills and able to evidence managing a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Some experience within a larger corporate environment would be advantageous, with a sound knowledge of robust internal controls and financial processes
  • Strong financial, analytical modelling and problem-solving skills
