Financial Accountant | Urgent Requirement | Immediate Start | Circa £300 / £350 per day

Axon Moore are currently working with a leading PE backed business in the Stockport area who are undergoing a period of rapid change and transformation. They are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to deliver accurate and timely management reporting information to support the business and the PE company.

As Financial Accountant you will maintain an accurate reconciled nominal ledger, producing timely management reporting information to support the business and PE house.

You will also produce monthly management accounts to strict reporting deadlines and maintains the completeness and accuracy of the nominal ledger.  They ensure that all balance sheets are fully reconciled on a monthly basis with reconciling items understood and resolved on a timely basis. You will also complete and submits VAT reporting requirements

As Management Accountant you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts to strict reporting deadlines and maintaining the completeness and accuracy of the nominal ledger. 

You will also ensure for a high volume of balance sheets reconciliations, ensuring the balance sheet is fully reconciled on a monthly.
Duties:
  • Pulling together robust Financial accounts and related reports to deliver accurate information on a timely basis in line with both local and Group requirements
  • Perform month-end activities under tight reporting deadlines – proactively identify process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy of reporting
  • Regularly review performance and apply thorough business understanding to identify, understand and explain variances to expectations, including product margin analysis
  • Produce accurate and insightful reconciliations and ensure that reconciling items are appropriately actioned and closed
  • Assist in the completion of the external audit work and internal delivery requests, producing informative analysis when required
  • Develop strong working relationships with PE company stakeholders and a thorough understanding of group reporting requirements
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider finance team to support completion of key deliverables e.g. budget and reforecast process
  • Own and maintain the fixed asset register
Person Specification:
  • Qualified Accountant (may consider QBE / stopped studier)
  • Experience of financial accounts
  • Strong fixed assets experience
  • Knowledge of stock based business advantageous
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • SAP experience desirable
  • Manufacturing experience is desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management background
