Job description

Axon Moore looking for a Financial Accountant to work for a world leader in the design and manufacture of heavy equipment. Established for over 125 years they are a world leader in this field and a well-established company that is growing year on year.

As Financial Accountant, you will reporting to the European Financial Controller and will have a strong commercial bias focusing on supporting the management team in ensuring that the business delivers profitable growth in line with strategic initiatives.

Overseas travel within Europe may be required on occasion.

Duties:
  • Analysis of overhead results, working closely with the support functions of the business to deliver within the approved budgets
  • Delivering month end – aligned to the group timetable and with full explanations for the variances to forecast/budget for the overhead areas
  • Quarterly forecasting – business partnering the support functions to work towards the agreed timetables
  • Intercompany elimination & mark ups during the month end & forecasting process
  • Utilisation of COGNOS reporting for consolidation tool at European level. Supporting the reconciliation process
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations with full back up and justification
  • Annual budgeting –primary focus on the overheads area of the PNL
  • Process improvement mindset to improve the key processes : month end, forecasting, budgeting
  • General expenses challenge project to achieve the right level of overheads to support the size of the business
  • Monthly payroll reconciliations and headcount reporting
  • Supporting the year-end audit and statutory reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the Group policies and the Group Code of conduct
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Person Specification:
  • Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA.
  • Experience in an international multi-site manufacturing or operations based business is preferable but not essential
  • Integrated ERP system- preferably SAP.
  • Highly competent in using MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel.
  • Consolidation tool experience would be advantageous (Cognos)
