Axon Moore are partnering with a market leading logistics company based in Lancashire with a search of a newly created Financial Controller position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that has been trading excellently through COVID and looking to strengthen their finance team moving forward. This slightly more commercially focused Financial Controller position will be working very closely to an exceptional CFO and other senior stakeholders across the business. The role will be focusing on driving the numbers, managing and developing a strong finance function and driving process improvements across the board.

The role will include:

Report directly to the CFO
Have full ownership of the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, monthly and annual year end numbers for the business and help drive key projects
Accurate and reliable cash flow management and financial reporting
Own internal and external reporting, production of monthly accounts and management information with your team, including working closely with the FP&A team to ensure consistency and rigour
Lead the external audit process and statutory accounts production with the CFO and external stakeholders
Build relationships internal stakeholders and key external parties, including auditors
Continually drive improvement into a strong finance team consisting of financial reporting, management accounts and transaction processing, which includes a number of qualified accountants
Create and develop new processes, controls and make changes including improving their current finance system
Partner senior stakeholders and the CFO in presenting and explaining financial information and performance of the business
Ad hoc projects

You will be a Fully Qualified Accountant from either an ACA or ACCA background, with practice experience and ideally have worked within a fast-moving environment. You will need to have a solid technical accounting background and use to a hands-on environment whilst adding value. This will be a significant opportunity to get into an exciting role with lots of change, challenges and be a part of an exciting journey working for an excellent CFO.

Salary is £80k - £90k + car + bonus + benefits
