Axon Moore are supporting a growing and profitable FMCG business based in Leeds to appoint a Financial Controller.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Provide day to day leadership and oversight of the finance function
- Partner with Business Unit Directors, the FD and MD to conduct commercial analysis and decision-making including bids & tenders
- Lead the financial planning process in conjunction with Heads of Department to ensure annual budgets are accurate and prepared in line with appropriate timelines
- Support FD and board on ad-hoc projects including acquisitions, integrations and expansion plans
- Provide proactive and effective decision-making support to the commercial areas of the business to support revenue & margin growth
- Produce monthly management information and high quality monthly rolling forecasting information for the P&L
- Manage the financial year end process ensuring satisfactory conclusion of the audit process
- Ensure all financial compliance procedures are adhered to, statutory deadlines are met and a robust controls framework exists within the function
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following background and experience:
- Qualified finance leader (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) with similar experience leading a finance function
- Able to work in a robust controls environment, meeting statutory deadlines, ensuring the quality of work is extremely high at all times
- Able to business partner with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation
- Personality traits and attitude are far more important pre-requisites in this search – high levels of emotional intelligence, drive and ambition will far outweigh specific accounting experience.
