Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a career focused and ambitious and commercially focused newly qualified accountant, to join a high profile and prestigious firm in a newly created FP&A Accountant role.

The business have exceptional Head Offices based in Leeds City Centre, but operate UK wide as well as internationally.

This role will join the newly created commercial finance team in a standalone role working alongside the Finance Business Partners, and reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance. The role will be responsible for analysing large volumes of data and presenting succinct and actionable insight to the business with regards to current and future performance. 

**The role would be ideally suited to a recently qualified accountant looking to make their first or next step into a commercial finance role where you will be making improvements, adding value and shaping new processes**

They are looking for someone who they can develop and progress both in this role, and for further progression in the team and wider business.


The key duties of the role will include:
  • Responsibility for sharing key financial messages with the business, including a monthly Board Management Information Pack and departmental KPIs.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly packs 
  • Creation of new reporting to proactively update business areas on recent activity levels and pipeline of revenue
  • Detailed analysis to support tracking of performance against agreed budgets and prior year results as well as forecasting future performance and supporting future budget processes.
  • Working alongside the Head of Commercial Finance to create insightful cash flow modelling, identifying the potential impact that key business risks could have on the medium and long term financial stability of the business.
  • Develop relationships with decision makers across the business 
  • Supporting the Head of Commercial Finance and the Senior Financial Accountant with the detailed review of management accounting information.
  • Helping to shape the approach for externally distributed analysis, ensuring this is accurate and consistent.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified - Essential
  • Have previous experience in a management accounting or finance analyst role - Essential
  • Have a good knowledge of MS Excel and Powerpoint - Essential
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders - Essential
