Job description

Axon Moore are currently working with a growing business in Chester who are looking for an FP&A Analyst to join their team on a 12 month FTC basis.

This role will report into the Head of FP&A and you will be required to prepare, analyse and present regular and ad hoc operational information (both financial and non-financial) to the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly Operational Reports and KPIs, specifically:-
    • Assisting the Head of FP&A in compiling the weekly Group KPI report
    • Preparation of various monthly KPI reporting and associated presentations for input into the Group monthly management accounts report together with detailed narrative
    • Preparation & detailed analysis of monthly reporting to highlight key results/trend for regional Operations teams
    • Preparation and detailed analysis of certain “Early Warning” reporting to identify potential trading issues at pubs to the Operational team
  • Support and challenge to the field teams through review of retail offers and pricing; capex schemes and expected returns; costs etc
  • Responsible for preparation and review of the annual budget for the Company, involving collaboration with the Operations team and preparation of key highlights to the Board
  • Maintain and adjust the annual budget to reflect the impact of capex, closure and disposals within the property portfolio
  • Provide support to the regional operational teams by attendance at monthly team meetings and presentation of key financial information, together with detailed understanding and explanation of key trends, business incentives etc & the impact there of
  • Act as commercial team business partner and provide both regular and ad-hoc data analysis on volumes and margins by product/brands/supplier and other requirements as requested
  • Provide support to the capex process by assisting in the review, challenge and submissions of capex schemes to the Capex Committee. Provide monthly ROI reporting and other Board summaries to highlight the post investment performance of the pubs and provide challenge where necessary.
  • Assist with preparation and management of business plans and budgets
  • Liaise with IT team to ensure operational data is stored and can be accessed effectively
  • Be instrumental in the development of FP&A reporting and liase with the IT team to develop background systems and front-end reporting, including the use of Power BI and Jet Reports
  • As part of the FP&A team, assist with any other ad-hoc reporting, analysis, projects or planning that may be required from time to time
 

 

Person Specification:
  • Experienced individual with Analyst experience
  • Demonstrating an ethic of delivering high performance through hard work, commitment and team-work
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to work to tight timescales are critical attributes
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal, ability to confidently explain financial information to non-financial personnel to support decision making
  • Advanced excel skills essential, use of Datawarehouse reporting, Power Bi and Jet reporting are preferable, Navision or other accountancy system skills desirable
  • Ability to build complex reporting models in excel which provide suitable outputs which can be adapted to suit the end user of the information as necessary
This role offer a hybrid working model (3 days home working, 2 in the office)
