£350 per day, outside IR35, South Manchester

Axon Moore are recruiting a FP&A Manager for a well-established and growing business with a presence throughout the UK. They are seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to assist the team through a period of growth and change.

The business is growing and is in a strong position post pandemic. They are adding this role to support the Commercial team with high level and complex analysis and planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in a multi-site retail environment, however we will consider anyone with a strong FP&A background.  A personable and friendly personality is a must in this vibrant team and business.

About the role

As interim FP&A Manager you will be working in a fast-paced, evolving finance team to provide accurate and timely analysis to an expanding multi-site operation (currently over 65 locations). Providing meaningful insight to improve business performance, the FP&A Manager role is a dynamic and challenging role, seeking continuous innovation and looking for opportunities to improve processes and practices. Characteristics among the team include the ability and willingness to act as a support and business partner to various stakeholders across the business (IT, Commercial, Operations and Marketing).

Main Duties
  • Provide support to the Commercial Finance team to ensure that business decisions are made based on sound judgement
  • Analyse large quantities of data and drilling into the detail across many variables which include locations and product lines
  • Produce accurate and reliable management information in a timely manner
  • Provide analysis on pricing, promotions, sales, margins, trends and variances
  • Analysis and reporting in different areas, such as pre-booked revenue, discounts, incentives and products
  • Support purchasing and operational decisions
  • Design and deliver analysis to drive improved understanding of sales performances
  • Involvement in the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Working closely with IT to improve on reporting functionality and system usage and efficiency
  • Communicate findings to senior stakeholders across the business
Person specification
  • Qualified Accountant with a wealth of FP&A experience
  • Advanced excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong planning and organisation skills essential
  • Enthusiastic and self-motived
  • Flexible/hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 wfh)
