Job description

Axon Moore are excited to be working with an industry leading FMCG business as they look to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk to their Wakefield office. The role is open to those who are of graduate level and looking for their first opportunity to work within a finance team, and development is available through the  potential study support. 

The Role:
  •  Matching, checking and coding invoices
  • Working out VAT payments
  • Making payments via BACS and cheques
  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  •  Reconciliation of supplier statements
  •  Resolving supplier queries
  •  Managing petty cash
  •  Data entry
  •  Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  •  Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  •  Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid team working skills
  • Previous experience working as a purchase ledger clerk / accounts payable clerk
  • Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
  • Experienced in Excel (intermediate – Advanced) and Microsoft office packages
  • Ability to work to deadlines
