Job description
I’m delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a high growth, PE backed manufacturing business, on their search for a UK Group Accountant.
Duties:
- Accounting entries and completion of the Management Accounts
- Support the UK Accounting Manager with completion of the UK management accounts
- Treasury management including establishment of new finance leases for asset purchases
- Management of the group wide financial reporting, ensuring month end and year end procedures are appropriate and adhered to
- Group consolidation, including relevant consolidation journals and outputs such as the reserves reconciliation
- Group capex reporting and control
- Provide technical expertise and advice on accounting and tax matters, liaising with finance team members, tax advisors or auditors as required
- Drafting the statutory accounts and preparation / analysis of data for tax calculations.
- Challenge group balances in terms of accuracy and validity (including balance sheet reconciliations)
- Key team member in the delivery of the annual external audit, ensuring adequate preparation, timely management of requests and maintaining excellent communication throughout
You are expected to have the knowledge, skills and abilities to:
- Consolidate the financial statements of an SME industrial group
- Strong demonstrable interest in corporate tax
- Reconcile data and tables to make sure they are accurate
- Present clear and concise summaries to the CFO
- Work independently yet to know when to ask for assistance
- Be disciplined in their approach to work tasks to make sure they are completed on time
Person Specification:
- Qualified Accountant, ideally ACA
- Intermediate excel skills (pivots, vlookups, SUMIFS)
- Sage 50 or 200 experience is desirable
This role would be well suited to an ACA first or second time mover who aspires to grow with the company as they’re expanding rapidly.
