Axon Moore are proud to be recruiting for a Group Financial Accountant on behalf of a hugely successful organisation that operates within the construction / facilities management space. Through a combination of impressive organic growth and PE backed acquisitions the business has expanded significantly over the last few years, now turning over circa £250m and employing over 2000 people. The growth and success continues year on year and as of such the finance function has grown in accordance with this. The Group Financial Accountant role is a newly created position within the group finance team and it will play a key part in supporting the whole of the business, including the senior leadership team, providing great exposure and a wide scope for the successful candidate.
Specifically the Group Financial Accountant will have responsibility for preparation of statutory accounts under FRS 101/FRS 102 for a range of subsidiaries, supporting the preparation of robust consolidated group accounts under IFRS, being a key contact for the statutory audit, as well as supporting the wider Group Finance team in period end close activities. This role would also be able to advise the wider group finance team on technical accounting matters and take ownership for areas such as IFRS16.
Another key element of it will be supporting in the implementation of a new accounts production package; process improvement and streamlining the preparation of the statutory consolidated accounts.

- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) / strong part-qualified candidates will also be considered
- Practice trained and/or with strong experience working in a financial accounting role for a large group
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (including IFRS 9, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16)
- Ability to implement best practice processes and controls
- Highly credible and able to quickly build effective working relationships
- Can engage, challenge and influence others at a senior level through verbal and written communication
- Pragmatic and flexible in approach
- Self-starter and able to work autonomously
- Strong time management and the ability to prioritise
