This is an interim role for 3-4 months working for a highly successful and longstanding construction business who have fantastic, newly refurbished offices based in Leeds!
The role will be a direct number 2 to the Finance Director.
It will take responsibility for the maintaining the balance sheet, reviewing controls, project work and assisting with the audit.

The key duties of this role will include:
- Daily banking control and report covering multiple sterling and foreign currency bank accounts
- Authorisation of Bills of Exchange
- Payment control for purchase ledger and trade payments
- Forecast and purchase of USD requirement
- Short term cash flow forecasting, monitor facilities and ensure within limits
- Invoice financing facility monitoring and reconciliations
- Monitoring customer rebates, incl. preparing/checking settlements via various means
- Identify and adjust for accruals and prepayments
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Reconciliation of control accounts
- Reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Preparation and posting of journal adjustments
- Responsible for petty cash, including month end summary and reconciliation
- Month-end reconciliations and ledger close off for all ledgers (sales, purchase, nominal)
- Preparation, review and analysis of monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets
- Coordinating and assisting with annual statutory audit
- Oversea the purchase ledger department and providing guidance to broader finance team
- Involvement in establishing new systems and processes, and improvements to financial reporting, to facilitate the planned growth of the group
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns for 3 companies
The successful candidate will:
- Part or fully qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA - Essential
- Have a minimum of 12 months experience in a relevant role in either practice or industry - Essential
- Have the ability to work effectively and thrive within a fast paced working environment - Essential
