Job description

Axon Moore are working with a hugely successful global business who are looking for an interim Financial Controller to cover a period of 12 months. This could potentially go temp to perm for the right person.

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for a specific contract (worth 80 million euros) ensuring all management and financial reporting complies with all internal and external regulatory requirements by mentoring a team or mostly remote reports in different hubs in Europe. You will collate accurate budgets and forecasts to reflect the strategy and activities to agreed formats and timetables and ensure that effective financial control is maintained. You will also look at process improvement, be responsible for credit control and cash collection for the contract and look after working capital / cashflow, both monitoring and reporting, plus be responsible for the supplier payment process.

Duties:

  • Financial and Management Reporting/Analysis and Financial control

  • Budgeting and forecasting (including cashflow and foreign exchange)

  • Transaction processing & management

  • Stakeholder management

  • Identification of areas where profit could be maximised through cost savings or other relevant measures

  • Effective cost control by ensuring that costs are approved in line with the company statement of delegated authorities and that any team or personal expenditure is pre-approved as well as being effective and the best value for money

  • Management of diversely spread finance team in UK, India and Germany

  • Working to identify and introduce process improvements in the SAP system


Person Specification:

  • Must have extensive SAP knowledge

  • Financial controller experience in a subsidiary of a large company

  • Experience of making process, control and reporting improvements

  • Experience of managing a team including transactional staff members

  • Experience of good processes and practice within a larger company

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified

  • Knowledge of IFRS

  • Financial management/control & group reporting

  • Management of entities reporting in different currencies

  • Large multi-national or European/global company experience

  • Experience within a multi-currency/multi language environment

  • Other European languages beneficial
