Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting for as high growth, highly acquisitive, PR backed business who are based in Manchester City Centre and are looking for a high calibre FP&A consultant for a period of circa 6 months.  The role will pay a competitive daily rate and be outside IR35.

Reporting to the Group Head of Commercial Finance, this role is responsible for managing FP&A activities for the group. This role will also involve working closely with the Group Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners, CFO and Directors across all areas of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning – Managing the annual planning and budgeting cycle, which takes place between July and December. Ownership of all areas of the budget, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and capex. Preparation of the budget will involve working with the Group Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners, Management Accountants, CFO, CEO and Directors across all areas of the business.


Financial modelling - Assist with the ongoing project to rebuild and test new group forecast long term model, integrated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow for use during Group planning process. Rebuild of the model is necessary to integrate recently acquired companies, produce scenario analysis and provide a financial target and aim for the Group.


Monthly reporting – Assist with preparation of papers for the Board including the monthly Board Pack. Working closely with the senior leaders of the business to ensure delivery of accurate and insightful reporting and analysis to the Board.

Person Specification:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong background working at Head of FP&A level with a large business
  • Accustomed to dealing with complex financial modelling, scenario planning, budgeting and forecasting, creating board packs
  • Precious experience of working in a private equity environment is advantageous
  • M&A experience is also advantageous
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to ensure excel financial models are easy to follow and understand with drivers and assumptions clearly laid out.
  • Highly proficient Excel skills including financial modelling.
