International Revenue Manager l Manchester l £70k-£80k + Bonus l Technology l Hybrid Working

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + bonus

Location: Manchester / Fully Remote available

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are partnering with a leading technology business as they look to recruit an experienced International Revenue Manager.

This position is responsible for being the primary point of contact for reviewing and providing Revenue related feedback surrounding International contracts and revenue recognition. As part of this responsibility, the position will articulate the revenue recognition impact on the financial statements to the International sales team, as well as the Executive team when requests are escalated, be well versed in relevant technical literature and be responsible for the preparation of technical accounting memos for complex arrangements. The role will also encompass maintaining relationships with Sales and the International Deal Team, consisting of representatives from Revenue, Legal, Sales Finance, and Accounts Receivable, in terms of managing day-to-day activities, as well as in developing the infrastructure to support future International business needs

Main Duties:

• Be the primary International subject matter expert on revenue recognition, ensure that revenue is accurately and timely recognised, and in compliance with ASC 606
• Providing revenue recognition guidance for multiple revenue stream in accordance with US and local GAAP, ensure compliance with SOX control and requirements.
• Partner closely with Sales, Legal and the International Deal Team to ensure that transactions are booked in accordance with the Company’s Revenue Recognition Policy
      o Primary focus of responsibility on International bookings and revenue recognition
      o Review and support negotiating key contractual terms, ensuring non-standard language is drafted             consistently with written approvals
      o Provide guidance on potential revenue recognition implications
      o Facilitate approval from Executive Management, as needed
• Partner with FP&A and Operations Team, review and monitor on revenue and backlog forecasting throughout the quarter
• Work closely with local Accounting team, review revenue recognised monthly, perform variance analysis vs forecast, sample check revenue recognition evidence per requirement, and ensure necessary reserves are properly calculated and provided for
• Perform quarterly balance sheet reconciliation and reporting including deferred revenue analysis and roll forward within required deadlines
• Support on both internal and external audit on all revenue related requests.
• Prepare and review revenue related memos for International business, ensuring that all relevant facts and circumstances are disclosed, the appropriate revenue guidance is applied using internally approved format
• Provide revenue recognition training to other International functional organisations within the company, including Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations and support quarterly side letter certification process
• Building working relationship with the Corporate Revenue team to ensure collaboration and consistency between both.
• Lead on building, supporting and maintaining an International revenue recognition process that mirrors the Corporate revenue recognition process,
• Continuous improvement on current revenue related procedures and process, automate the process utilising technology, building efficiency's and streamline work flows.
• Ensure continued success with current and future revenue recognition guidance, including any International statutory requirements, as requested
• Assist in any other ad-hoc projects or tasks as necessary, to ensure business continuity

Person Specification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with peers and management, particularly regarding complex customer negotiations and arrangements
• High energy, ability to multi-task, while demonstrating urgency in fast paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and other analytical tools.
• Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement
• Solid planning, leadership, and administration skills, including the ability to make a judgement call and hold firm on decisions when pushback is received
• Expert level knowledge of ASC 606 and related guidance regarding revenue recognition in a high-tech (software/hardware) company
• Significant industry experience in actual application of revenue accounting guidance
• General understanding of SOX requirements in a public company environment
• Experience working with sales organisation preferred, especially in International market
