Job Title: Investment Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + bonus and excellent benefits
Location: Manchester City Centre / Hybrid working

My Client is a fast growing (soon to be PE backed) Debt Purchaser based in Manchester that specialises in the purchase of and servicing of alternative finance non-performing loans. The investment team is responsible for originating deals, analysing and pricing potential investments and engaging with external clients across the financial sector to acquire portfolios of predominantly consumer debts in the UK.

The candidate will be joining a dynamic and fast paced team, with exposure to board level executives on a regular basis. At this exciting time to be joining the organisation, there is a lot of opportunity for rapid progression in an ambitious and relatively young company which plans to continue expanding and has a strong focus on both its staff and their development.

What makes a successful Investment Manager?


  • Leading/Supporting the portfolio acquisition processes including the in depth analysis of potential portfolio acquisitions and presenting findings back to Senior Management to support the Group’s decisioning and valuation process
  • Conducting on site and remote due diligence on portfolio acquisition opportunities and conducting CCA and risk review of potential purchases.
  • Engaging with clients and financial institutions to understand and obtain the required data to support each portfolios valuation
  • Work with the analytics team to develop new and existing cashflow forecasting using statistical modelling to support pricing assumptions
  • Writing and presenting Investment memorandums for board approval
  • Work with Operational/Implementation departments within the business to support and execute portfolio migration plans post purchase
  • Review and analysis of portfolio performance post-acquisition vs expectation
  • What experience do you need?
  • We are looking for a highly numerate, commercially minded, and self-motivated individual who is articulate and confident in communicating with colleagues at every level of the business including senior members and stakeholders.
  • Analytical background (essential)
  • Working experience of excel, R, SAS, SQL, Python (desirable)
