Job description

Axon Moore are working with a large business based in Ashton to recruit a Part-Qualified Management Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, global company who are looking to bring in someone driven to succeed and progress in the role. This role will provide the opportunity to be mentored by a high calibre Site Accountant within a hands-on environment.

The role looks after the monthly and weekly management and month end accounting process and will have a hands-on approach and commercial reach into the business.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £36,000 - £38,000 DOE plus study support, 28 days holiday, pension, free parking, 8-4 core hours with flexibility, on-site canteen with well-priced hot meals at breakfast and lunch.

Responsibilities include: 
  • Working closely with the Site Accountant and the Assistant Management Accountant
  • Production of monthly and weekly accounts for the business
  • Financial reporting for the business
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, journals and variance analysis
  • Daily and weekly KPI tracking around financial, technical and operational metrics
  • Assisting with CapEx requests and recording on the accounting system
  • Creation of POs and being the point of contact for escalated invoice queries
  • Covering absence and holiday for the wider team
  • Ad-hoc accounting duties as requested
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant role – Manufacturing would be desirable
  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA as an active studier, looking to become qualified
  • Intermediate Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot tables/graphs) are essential
  • Good commercial awareness with good stakeholder management
  • Experience of daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
  • Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
