Axon Moore are working with a well-established business based in the Middleton/Oldham area to recruit a Part/nearly qualified Management Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and successful company who are looking to strengthen the finance team. This role will support the FD and oversee the month-end process and completion of MA packs, reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing and overseeing the team to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and in line with the month end timetable
- Continuous improvement and development of the team, supporting and mentoring
- Preparing the management accounts in line with set deadlines
- Reviewing the month end spend analysis and accruals and prepayment
- Payroll Management- including processing holiday, sick and maternity/paternity pay and
- expenses, calculating overtime, shift payments and pay increases
- Balance Sheet and Control Account reconciliations and review
- Approving payments and reviewing and managing cashflow
- Overseeing and managing the annual audit process and preparing the statutory accounts
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to Senior Management Team
- Product Costing and Analysis
- Reporting on budgetary variances
- Maintaining and improving the reporting capabilities within the system
- Completing and submitting all HMRC submissions, including Intrastat & VAT returns
- Managing, reporting on and reconciling all intercompany costs
- Preparation and reporting of key KPI’s for the business
- Monitoring and review of current accounting systems and operations in order to recommend and introduce improved methods of working.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties where necessary
- Fully Qualified or Part Qualified ACCA or CIMA
- Advanced IT skills, particularly MS Excel and Sage 200
- Previous experience of managing/supervising a team ideal
- Commercially focused with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
- Confident to use initiative, solve problems, and report accordingly to the management team
- Ability to work to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
