Axon Moore are exclusively working with a fantastic entrepreneurial SME in Lancaster to recruit an ambitious Management Accountant. They're a robust, long-standing business with a strong reputation.
This will be a brilliant long term opportunity for an individual who is business minded, wants to contribute to the company’s ongoing success, learn directly from a high-calibre and very knowledgeable MD, with an exceptional long term progression plan to FD.
Ideally candidates will be nearly or newly qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with strong analytical ability, and able to manage multiple projects in tandem. In addition, strong excel skills and preferably prior sage 50 knowledge would be advantageous.

Responsibilities include:
- The preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Completion of VAT Returns
- Nominal Ledger postings, including accruals and prepayments, depreciation and general journals
- Line Manager responsibility and mentoring for one trainee accountant
- Assist with Cashflow forecasting and daily cash management
- Any ad hoc Financial Reporting for the Group and Senior Management
- Preparation for and participation in audits ensuring completion of any audits that are required, including Tax and Statutory reporting
- Partnering with Operations to resolve issues and support continuous improvement
- Measuring, maintaining, monitoring and reporting all costings and calculations to ensure profitability is correctly maintained and reported, highlighting any products or operations that fall below required margins.
- Continually reviewing processes to identify potential improvements
- Working closely with MD on routine and ad hoc financial activities
