Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing PE backed business based in Rochdale. The company has gone from strength to strength dominating their market and are always on the lookout for ambitious and driven people for their team. They currently have a requirement for a Management Accountant to assist in the finance department.

In the role of Management Accountant, you will support the team with the with the creation of the UK P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement. You will help with the production of management information and provide support to business decision makers. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate with Assistant Management Accounts experience who is looking for a step up into a hands-on role in an ever-growing business!

Salary and Benefits:

Salary £30,000 - £35,000 DOE, study support with ACA, ACCA or CIMA as well as on the job training, annual leave which increases with length of service, starting at 23 days plus bank holidays, benefit from private healthcare and dental schemes and an employee assistance programme. Role Overview:
  • Create the monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow for the UK business
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Assist in the creation of the year-end audit files.
  • Assist in the creation of the UK budget and mid-year re-forecasts.
  • Perform employee bonus/commission calculations monthly.
  • Be the first point of escalation regarding all aspects of Sales Ledger activities.
  • Ensure the business adopts the correct tax treatment when setting up new customers/suppliers for the group.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of HMRC requirements and statutory reporting.
  • Assist an perform monthly stock counts.
  • Provide the team with cover for sickness and holiday.
  • Assist with project work as required.
  • Ad hoc work within the remit of the role as required.
Your Experience as an Assistant Management Accountant:
  • Degree educated or AAT study route
  • Part qualification in ACA, ACCA or CIMA and an active studier
  • Experience working in an Assistant Management Accountant role or similar, with experience with the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Strong communication - written and verbal
  • Excellent excel skills are essential, ability to confidently use vlookups and pivot tables
  • A driven individual with a positive “can do” and “will do” attitude
  • Ability to successfully organise and prioritise work dynamically
