Job description

Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of an growing business based in Rochdale. My client is seeking a Management Accountant to join the finance team on a full time, permanent basis.

Working within a small finance team and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee the month end process and monthly management accounts, as well as overseeing a team of 3 transactional staff.

Salary and Benefits - Up to £35k DOE and qualification, 23 days plus banks holiday rising to 32 plus banks with service. Pension, study support, health plan, Denplan, free parking. 1 day from home working.


Responsibilities include: 
  • Prepare the monthly UK management accounts together with variance analysis and commentary ready for review with the UK Financial Controller and CFO
  • Correctly account for the UK Fixed Assets including additions, disposals and depreciation on a real time basis
  • Assist with the creation of the Year End audit file for the UK business
  • Ensure the UK and US inter-company account reconciles on a real time basis
  • Assist the Financial Accountant as required with UK balance sheet reconciliations and other internal controls
  • Ensure UK GRNI is completed weekly in line with department KPIs
  • Calculate UK bonus payments monthly and annually
  • Ensure month end deadlines are met
  • Manage the transactional team to ensure all business KPIs are met
  • Manage the purchase ledger function of the business
  • Liaise with the credit controller on a regular basis to provide that link between sales ledger and credit control
  • Oversee payment runs, statement reconciliations and aged creditor reviews on a weekly / monthly basis as required
  • Ensure correct tax treatment when setting up new UK customers and suppliers, predominantly from a VAT perspective
  • Authorise credit notes and payments on online banking as prescribed by the signing authority QF
  • Conduct regular 1-1’s and quarterly KPI review meetings in line with the HR procedure
  • To ensure that all procedures are adhered to as stipulated in the WCCTV Quality Procedures and Quality Policy in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • ACCA/CIMA part qualified
  • Experience in producing management accounts and providing analysis with a detailed summary.
  • Experience in line managing transactional staff, including completion of 1-2-1s.
  • Experience of Access Dimensions would be beneficial.
  • Intermediate use of Excel
  • A quick learner with an eye for detail who is capable of working to strict deadlines.
  • An enthusiastic team player with good communication skills.
