Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting a Part Qualified Management Accountant for a rapidly growing organisation in the manufacturing industry. They are part of a successful group and due to a sustained period of consistent growth, are seeking a hard-working Part Qualified Management Accountant with a keen eye for detail to support the finance team based near Wigan. This organisation has several public sector contracts in addition to working with many big brands in the private sector.
About the role
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a growing company and gain fantastic hands-on experience. The purpose of this role is to support senior members of the finance team. In addition, there will be a phased takeover of a number of the responsibilities currently bestowed upon senior colleagues. The role sits within an extremely collaborative team where the successful candidate will have an experienced and supportive mentor to guide them.
Salary – £24-30k depending on experience and qualification (+study support)

The following is a list of duties that will be assumed over a period of time.
- Preparation and production of monthly Management Accounts
- Preparation of balance sheet pack schedules
- Maintain Prepayments and Accrual
- Variance Analysis reporting
- Ensure accounting routines are followed efficiently
- Weekly reporting of sales, margin and manufacturing efficiencies
- Preparation of Year end audit files
- Co-ordinate year end stock counts
- Weekly / monthly KPIs and production of KPI Board Pack
- Collect and compile data for improvement projects
- Collaborate with heads of department to prepare annual budgets
- Validate stock valuation and reconcile to Sage system
- Manage stock provisions
- Maintain monthly forecasting
- Calculate manufacturing departmental labour recoveries
- Manage Bills of Materials
- Provide holiday cover for weekly / monthly payroll
- Preparation of Quarterly VAT returns
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Reconcile intercompany transactions
- Part qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent experience with a view to full qualification
- Graduates and those studying AAT also suitable
- Proficient with Excel
- Interest in the manufacturing industry would be advantageous
- Knowledge/experience in SAGE 200
- High level of attention to detail.
