Job description

This briliant new opportunity is working for a PE Backed high growth and acquisitive professional services firm who have multiple offices across the North, but are headquartered in Leeds City Centre. 

The business are in the middle of a 5 year growth plan, so this is the ideal time to join the commercial finance team in this newly created role!

Along with the rest of the small team, you will be involved in influencing key business decisions, future acquisitions and will be instrumental in the imminent growth of the company!

This role is a Finance Business Partner, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance, and working as one of two FBPs in the team. It will take responsibility for one business area, supporting the heads of departments doing the forecasting, reporting and business partnering and converting data into meaningful analysis.

***The role would be ideally suited to someone currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA with a good grounding in management accounts who is now looking to move their career into a more commercially focused finance role. It would be ideal for someone who enjoys bringing new ideas, adding value and wants to help shape new processes, along with business partnering and building relationships with finance non-finance stakeholders.***

The role will mainly be working from home with the requirement to work 1 day every 1-2 weeks from the Leeds City Centre Office!

The key duties of this role will include:
  • Work in partnership with other teams to understand business drivers and contribute to operational strategy, including the development of organic and acquisition growth plans
  • Provide input to month end processes including financial reporting and control
  • Provide insight and context to business performance
  • Define, implement and maintain KPI reporting
  • Involvement in systems improvement to ensure that Finance objectives are met
  • Carry out regular FP&A / forecasting exercises and challenge outputs 
  • Preparation of annual budget including presentation of this budget to stakeholders
  • Understand our products and product profitability.
  • Provide early warnings of issues along with solutions / mitigating plans
  • Involvement in ad hoc finance projects to drive continuous improvement
  • Delivery monthly management information with commentary and analysis

The successful candidate will:
  • Be actively studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA - Essential
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in producing management accounts - Essential
  • Have an advanced knowledge of excel and the ability to manipulate data sets - Essential
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with non finance stakeholders - Essential
