Axon Moore are recruiting a Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Uppermill, Oldham. They are looking to recruit a flexible, part time role which will be approximately 8-12 days a month around mid-month and month end. This would suit anyone looking to work part time or around school hours. The role would also be hybrid, also allowing you to work from home.
The role would be 2 days a week for someone covering the essential duties listed below and would be 3 days a week for someone able to carry out the beneficial duties. Experience is needed for either of the roles.
Salary and Benefits: £24-26k or £26-30k depending on level of experience and remit to cover full capacity for the role. 20 days holidays plus banks (close at Christmas), pension, free parking, health plan. Salary and benefits will be on a pro-rata basis according to working hours agreed.

Essential
- Monthly VAT Reconciliation and Check VAT liability
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Prepayments and accruals
- Processing purchase ledger invoices, reconciliations and making payments
- Petty Cash and expenses
- Sales invoicing and credit control
- Bank Reconciliations
- Paying PAYE, Class 1A NIC’s, Corporation Tax and VAT
- Monthly management accounts and profit and Loss preparation
- Cash flow forecasting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Payroll including pension
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience
- Bookkeeping experience in a standalone capacity (essential), including management accounts prep (beneficial)
- Strong IT skills and a competent user of Excel. Experience with Xero would be beneficial.
- Good time planning skills and attention to detail
- A self-starter with excellent team work abilities, who works hard under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
- Able to complete a numerical reasoning and psychometric test on interview.
