Payroll Manager l South Manchester| Part-Time (3 days per week)| £30-35k FTE

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are currently working alongside a highly progressive SME who are embarking on a period of exceptional growth which has presented an opportunity to enhance their finance team.

Salary: £30-35k FTE

Location: South Manchester (Near the Airport)

Main Duties:
  • End to end preparation and calculation of multiple payrolls including (but not limited to) processing new starters / leavers / SSP / SMP / overtime / holiday pay / updating tax codes
  • Compliance with HMRC requirements regarding RTI (from data entry to submission of RTI Reports)
  • Compliance with current tax legislation
  • Preparation of error-free payroll reports for accounting purposes (month on month variance analysis with commentary)
  • Responsible for all pension processing & compliance (auto-enrolment / pension joiners & leavers / pension reporting to provider / liaising with pension provider on queries)
  • Point of contact for all payroll related queries
  • Processing and payment of employee expenses
  • Ensuring compliance and completion of P11Ds and P60 processes
  • Submission of CIS information to HMRC
  • Maintain effective procedures from operations through to payroll for all employee changes, working with the HR team as required
  • Lead on development of payroll policies and procedures to ensure statutory and business requirements are compliant with current legislation
  • Support HR / Recruitment Team as required
Person Specification:
  • > 3 years experience in an insourced payroll environment
  • Recognised payroll qualification
  • Experience of Xero payroll (or similar system)
  • Experience of processing multiple payrolls
  • Full and up to date understanding of HMRC requirements in relation to payroll
  • Full working knowledge of latest taxation and other legislation applicable to payroll
    and pensions.
  • A working knowledge of CIS deductions / HMRC submission - desirable
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A team player with a friendly and open manner
  • Proactive with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload
