Job description

Axon Moore are partnering with a large and fast paced business in Openshaw, Manchester who are looking to appoint an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk into the business, creating a small team of 3.

Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager, you will be responsible for the end to end function of the Purchase ledger, working collaboratively with the team and wider accounts function to ensure the smooth process from inputting invoices to creating payment runs. The accounts function has undergone some restructuring and consequently now needs to grow the team.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary £23-26k per annum, pension, death in service x 2 of your salary, parking on-site, free breakfasts, excellent holidays growing with service with extra buy options. This role will be 5 days in the office, however the hours are flexible between 7-5pm (37.5 hours).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Posting of a high volume of invoices and matching them to PO number
  • Proactively resolving invoice queries
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Deal with supplier queries and emails in a professional and timely manner
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve and queries that may arise
  • Payment runs to suppliers and self-employed staff
  • Support management with any ad-hoc tasks as required.
Experience and skills:
  • Experience in a Purchase Ledger role
  • Experience using accounting systems
  • Experience with MS Excel – Vlookups and Pivot Tables are beneficial
  • A strong work ethic - proactive in your work, showing initiative
  • A keen interest in purchase ledger
  • Good attention to detail and able to work to a fast pace
