Job description

The Company 

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting a Purchase Ledger Manager for a well-established and exciting company based in their head office in Denton. After continued growth and development of the business and finance team, they are now looking to bring a Purchase Ledger Manager into the business to head up the Purchase Ledger function.

About the role  

To manage the purchase ledger function for the £40m turnover group across 4 trading businesses. Ensure purchase invoices and credits are processed in a timely fashion so suppliers are paid accurately on time. Reconcile the ledger payments monthly so the FC can prepare the monthly cash flow in advance of making payments. Liaise with suppliers to resolve day to day queries. Manage one line report and be a key member of the 8 strong finance team.

Salary & Benefits

£30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, quarterly bonus, 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, pension, parking, employee owned business with share scheme with other perks and annual dividends, birthday card with £20 voucher, plus others. 

Main Duties 
  • With the support of 1 line report, manage the posting of all purchase ledger invoices and credit notes each month and reconcile to statements
  • Resolve any queries with suppliers in a timely fashion
  • Resolve any internal transfer disputes with the branches
  • Prepare the suggested payment run each month
  • Send out remittances and resolve any allocation issues with suppliers
  • Work with the finance team to drive best practice
  • Report to the FC weekly on KPIs and adherence to deadlines
  • Be involved in development projects and improving process
  • Help on board new companies as and when we acquire
  • Support the department to grow as the overall business grows
Person specification 
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a finance dept
  • Ideally with prior line management experience
  • Computer literate, ideally with experience on Sage200.
  • Intermediate Excel (Pivot tables/Look ups)
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Confident communicator both written and verbally
