The Company 

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting a Purchase Ledger Manager for a well-established and exciting company based in their head office in Manchester City Centre. After growth and development of the business, they are now looking to bring an innovative and experienced Purchase Ledger Manager into the business to head up the team of 4.

About the role 

The purpose of this role is to assist the Financial Controller and oversee all Accounts Payable matters, while being hands on and a key point of contact for escalations and queries. You will encourage best practice and run an effective operation to ensure suppliers are paid on time and correctly, while looking at continuous improvement. 

Salary – £35,000 - £40,000 (could go up to £45,000 depending on experience), hybrid working with flexible working hours. Other list of benefits are available on request.

Main Duties 
  • Day to day management of the Accounts Payable team of 4.  
  • Performance management of staff and appraisals with regular 1-2-1’s & team updates.  
  • Ensure all outgoing payments are released and allocated correctly first time. 
  • Ensure that the Accounts Payable team are working in line with company guidelines.
  • Support the Accounts Payable team in escalating their queries within the business
  • Contribute to continuous improvements within your role and the wider team to improve accuracy and to eliminate errors. 
  • Reporting – Aged creditors, unprocessed invoices, queried invoices, GL reconciliations and key KPI’s. 
  • Support ad hoc projects within the Accounts Payable team. 
  • To work collaboratively with all colleagues & stakeholders. 
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties required from time to time. 
Person specification 
  • 2+ Years previous Accounts Payable Management experience
  • Intermediate Excel (Pivot tables/Look ups) essential
  • Previous experience of reporting and using accounting systems
  • Innovative and keen to improve and challenge existing processes
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Confident communicator both written and verbally
  • Performance driven and keen to exceed expectations
  • Proven customer service experience
