As the group continue to expand their operations across the UK, they are now looking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager to oversee the Leeds City Centre based management accounts team.
The Senior Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing 6 direct reports and be responsible for the delivery of the month-end process for the business unit, including the preparation of monthly management accounts, consisting of the profit and loss and balance sheets in addition to the preparation of information for statutory accounts, recording of fixed assets, project tracking and payroll in line with the Group financial control framework and Group reporting timetable.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Control and External Reporting, the key duties of this role will include:
- Full responsibility for the Management Accounting function and to develop, coach, support and motivate a team of 7 staff
- Oversee the review and approval of journal entries
- Review and sign-off of adjustment postings, the accruals and prepayment schedules and the balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure oversight of the expenses reporting process and associated analysis monthly
- Handle any escalations from the team in relation to variances.
- Liaise with Finance Business Partners regarding debt recoverability, helping to drive any adjustments as required and to calculate quarterly bad debt provision.
- Ensure judgemental models are operating effectively and key underlying assumptions are documented and updated
- Oversee the closure of general ledgers.
- Submit month end financial results to the Finance Director with supporting commentary.
- Review monthly payroll and FTE analysis.
- Oversee the calculation and posting of month bonus accrual and supporting monthly/annual bonus calculations.
- Assist with the production of monthly cashflows with forecast projections.
- Monthly FP&A cash flow submission.
- Support budget and forecasting; profit and loss + cash basis
- Ensure a robust control framework is operating effectively across the function.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - Essential
- Have experience of IFRS, CASS, UK GAAP - Highly desirable
- Have advanced Excel skills - essential
- Have experience operating as a senior finance leader with a broad range of general accounting functions including business and financial reporting - Essential
