Technical Accounting Manager l South Manchester l 28-32k l Software Solutions

Job Overview:

I’m currently working alongside a global Software Solutions business based in South Manchester recruiting a Technical Accounting Manager to provide exceptional support to accountants and payroll professionals utilising specialised software tailored for the temporary workforce in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contractor accounting and a genuine passion for problem-solving and assisting others. This role requires a proactive and customer-focused individual who thrives on delivering high-quality service, both remotely and in-person. This would be a great role for someone currently working in Finance but looking to broaden their horizons and move away from traditional accounting.

Salary: Up to £32k

Location:  South Manchester

Main Duties:

Accounting and Payroll Support:
  • Assist accountants and payroll professionals in effectively using the specialised software, addressing queries, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Provide guidance on payroll-related matters and ensure smooth integration of the software into clients' processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team to communicate customer feedback and contribute to software enhancements.
Customer Service Excellence:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and tailoring solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective problem-solving and efficient resolution of issues.
Training and Onboarding:
  • Conduct training sessions and webinars to educate clients on the software's features, functionality, and best practices.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
Office and On-Site Support:
  • Embrace the opportunity to work in the office, providing face-to-face support and building strong rapport with clients.
  • Travel to client sites as required to offer personalised assistance and build lasting relationships.
Collaborative Approach:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and sales, to enhance product offerings and meet customer needs.
 

Person Specification:
  • At least a Grade B In Maths GCSE or equivalent
    • AAT Qualfied or ACCA or equivalent qualified/part qualified/ studier and have worked in accountancy practice setting for 1+ years
    • Solid understanding of tax regulations in the context of the UK temporary workforce. Understanding of accounting principles would be a distinct advantage.
    • Proficiency in using accounting software and related tools; experience with specialised contractor solutions is a strong advantage.
    • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to empathise, communicate effectively, and build strong relationships.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to evolving client needs and software updates.
    • A positive attitude, enthusiasm for working in a collaborative team environment, and a genuine love for helping others.
